Donna and Joe Bradley, also lovingly known as Spirit and Sunow,

knew decades ago that their mission was to teach people how to

love in a way that many did not know was possible. Sunow had

returned from being a combat photographer in the Vietnam war.

He was heartbroken by the devastating and long-term effects of

war. Realizing that he, himself, was very damaged, and that he

had no idea how to heal himself, he first went into isolation.

After his marriage to Donna, who very much believed in the

healing power of Unconditional Love, they made a vow to fully

devote themselves to helping people heal from violence. This

choice eventually led to legally adopting or taking permanent

guardianship of 17 children and taking in many more, all who

had experienced serious physical and emotional abuse. Both

Donna/Spirit and Joe/Sunow would want you to understand:

even though their intentions were so good, they still made

great mistakes. Given the extreme childhood abuse that each

of them had experienced, they often could not know the most

effective ways of loving. And yet, children are so forgiving. They

wanted their parents to be their heroes, and so they taught their

new parents everything that humans need—not just to survive

but to thrive. Spirit has created this deck to teach you everything

the children taught her.

Spirit was (as she puts it) blessed to be born severely disabled.

Because she didn’t experience the normal activities of childhood,

she avoided indoctrination into any specific belief system that

most people receive through school, church, or society. By the

time she was able to function in the world, she already deeply

understood that everything was actually between herself and the

Divine. This deck contains the deeply-lived teachings that grew

from this sacred connection and wisdom. It was created with

the passionate intent of sharing Unconditional Love with you.
